ALPACAS
Winter 2000 at Aureate Alpacas
Aureate is registered as a prefix with the Australian Alpaca Association, usually shortened
to the triple A, their web-site may be found at www.alpaca.asn.au.
I am also a member of the Australian Alpaca Fleece Ltd (AAFL),
www.australianalpacafleece.com.au.
A company set up for growers to market and value add to their fleece. The fleece of the Alpaca is in my opinion
the Alpha fibre of all fleece producing animals.
Aureate has both Huacaya and Suri animals. The flock of Alpaca are mostly white, with some fawns,
browns and a couple of greys. Our stud animal is from Peruvian stock Aureate Tam "O" Shanta, and we part own four
more, NWA Ltd Don Juan ( Imp U.S.A.), Timbertop Armani, Cedar House Dublin all Huacays and a Suri Alcazar Alcazar.
All four males are white.

LOCATION
The property is located not far from Canberra in an area of Southern NSW which is traditionally Merino fine wool country.
It is not a coincidence that there are many Alpaca owners in this region. The Alpaca does very well in this area. There are nearly two hundred Alpaca owners in this region who have a strong support group through their regional association, with regular meetings, shows and field days.
Visitors are welcome to visit but please make an appointment. 02 6236 9133
